Johannes is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA), bringing over a decade of experience to his role at RBK, where he has served for the past four years, specializing in providing external audit services to large corporations, subsidiaries, and SMEs.
Prior to joining RBK, Johannes worked as an Audit Manager at Ernst & Young (Ireland), where he managed a diverse portfolio of clients. His auditing career began at KPMG (South Africa), where he completed his training contract. Throughout his tenure at both Ernst & Young and KPMG, he developed deep expertise working with listed entities, group audits, and large-scale audits across sectors such as manufacturing, mining, retail, construction, technology, and financial services. More recently, his portfolio has expanded to include clients in manufacturing, construction, technology, retail, and hospitality.
Johannes holds a Bachelor of Accounting Science (cum laude) from Walter Sisulu University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (Honours) from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where he majored in Financial Reporting and Auditing. He has a strong background in Financial Reporting Standards and has considerable experience in reviewing and evaluating the implementation and operational effectiveness of internal controls, including SOX controls. In addition to his professional qualifications, Johannes has earned a Masters in Tax Law and an MBA, further strengthening his expertise.
Committed to community development, Johannes also serves as a Director for a local Credit Union, reflecting his dedication to giving back and supporting local initiatives.
