RBK, Ireland’s largest independent accountancy firm, announce the appointment of Joe Cleary as Managing Partner, commencing on 1st July 2022.
Joe Cleary, a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland with more than 30 years’ experience supporting large SME and owner-managed businesses, is currently Audit and Business Advisory Partner in RBK’s head office in Athlone. He succeeds David Gleeson whose second term as Managing Partner ends in June. David will remain with RBK in a Client Advisory role.
Speaking on his appointment, Joe Cleary, Partner, said:
“I am honoured to be elected Managing Partner and grateful to my fellow Partners for the trust that they have placed in me.
“This is a time of exceptional opportunity for many of our clients. Businesses are currently resetting priorities after two years of unprecedented uncertainty due to the Covid-19 pandemic and Brexit. Under my leadership, our focus will continue to be on supporting clients to build a sustainable future for themselves and their businesses, whether through enhancing profitability, organic growth, restructuring or by taking advantage of deal making opportunities in the market. All of this is made possible by having a highly talented team in place, enabling us to provide diverse and innovative solutions for our clients.
“On behalf of myself and my fellow Partners, I want to thank David for the energy and outstanding contribution he has brought to the stewardship and growth of RBK over the past 6 years. I have seen first-hand the enormous contribution that David has made and I look forward to working alongside him over the coming months in advance of taking up my new role. I am also pleased that David has agreed to remain with RBK in a Client Advisory role.”
David Gleeson, outgoing Managing Partner, said:
“I feel really privileged to have held the role of Managing Partner at RBK for the last six years. During that time, our firm and accomplished team has grown considerably and adapted to change in a fast-paced and increasingly digitised economy.
“Joe has been a key member of the RBK leadership team for many years and I am confident that I will leave the firm in capable hands. I know Joe will continue to position RBK as a dynamic, multidisciplinary, ambitious firm and I wish him the very best in his upcoming role.”
